Abstract | Present invention provides a therapeutic agent for hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) SPG4. More specifically, this invention pertains to a composition for preventing or treating a neurodegenerative disease such as HSP-SPG4 comprising a substance that inhibits the function of miR-33a as an active ingredient. The inventors completed this invention upon finding that inhibition of miR-33a function in the cortical neuron differentiated from HSP-SPG4 patient-derived iPS cells improved the axon length shortening of the neuron. |
